AMBROSart features my photographic art and books. Thank you for visiting.

                                                                                       - Carmen Ambrosio

I am an art photographer and memoir author who was born and lived in St. Thomas,  U. S. Virgin Islands before moving to the Midwest to finish college. After recovering from a severe multiple sclerosis exacerbation, I decided to end my corporate and nonprofit career and pursue two passions: visual and literary arts.

Many of my recent digital artworks are composed of multiple images I layer to suggest depth and texture. I intend the resulting abstracts to challenge assumptions about what is and is not visible, and compel viewers to consider what lies beneath the surface in art and life.

I've published two books: SAMSON: Memories of a Found Hound (2017) and (deep breath) Life Continues: Facing the Challenges of MS, Menopause and Midlife with Hope, Courage and Humor (2010).

Thanks to my wonderful husband, I was able to complete the #1 item on both my bucket list and the 60 Things I Wanted To Do Before I Turn 60: going to Portugal. As the new decade begins, I hope to start sculpting again, publish a short story collection, and venture places where snakes aren't prevalent so I won't need knee-high boots and a mongoose bodyguard.

The certainty of uncertainty inherent in having multiple sclerosis increases the urgency for me to create art and to write while I can. Most days, I do.

My husband and I live in Dublin, Ohio.
